Best of Rift Valley Nakuru-Masai Mara package Feb 2024

Day 1: Nairobi – Lake Nakuru

Pick up at your hotel or Airport in Nairobi at 8am and depart for Nakuru. Drive through the escarpment via the floor of the scenic Great Rift Valley. Stop for around 30 minutes for photo session and shop around the curio shops. Proceed to Lake Nakuru National Park arriving in time for check in and lunch.

Lake Nakuru National Park lies in 140km northwest of Nairobi, in the Nakuru County of the Rift Valley Province. The ecosystem comprises the lake, surrounded by mainly wooded and bushy grasslands. The park supports a wide ecological diversity with Flamingos (Greater and Lesser) and other water birds being the major attractions of the area. The ecosystem provides for about 56 different species of mammals including the white rhino and buffaloes and a variety of terrestrial birds numbering nearly 450 species.

Afternoon game drive before returning to your camp or lodge in the evening.

Dinner and overnight at Sarova Lionhill/similar. (Meal Plan Lunch & Dinner)

Day 2: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara

Breakfast then drive to Maasai Mara National Reserve, one of Africa’s Greatest Wildlife Reserves.

Masai Mara is situated in southwest Kenya and is one of Africa’s Greatest Wildlife Reserves. Together with the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, it forms Africa’s most diverse, incredible, and most spectacular eco-systems and possibly the world’s top safari big game viewing eco-system. It is globally famous for its exceptional population of lions, leopards, and cheetahs, and the annual migration of zebra, Thomson’s gazelle, and wildebeest to and from the Serengeti every year from July to October, known as the Great Migration.

You will arrive in time for check in and Lunch. After lunch, you will have afternoon/evening game drives and later return to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Dinner and overnight at Mara Serena Lodge or Similar.  

Day 3: Masai Mara

Option 1

Breakfast and exit the camp with packed lunch for a whole day game drive at the Mara National Reserve in search of the Big 5.
You will later return in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Option 2

Morning game drives and then return for breakfast. You will then freshen up and take off for a mid-morning game drive. You will return for lunch and then spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure like swimming in the pool. More game drives take place in the evening in search of more animals. After sunset, you will return for dinner and your overnight stay at the camp.

You may also choose a morning Balloon ride (Optional) where you will be picked up and transferred to the balloon launch site. Here you will meet your pilot, receive a briefing, and watch the inflation of your balloon. The actual ride starts at 6 am.

On your way back to the lodge, you will pass through the Maasai village. Have an Afternoon game drive. Return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Dinner and overnight at Mara Serena Lodge or Similar. 

Day 4: Masai Mara – Nairobi

Early Morning breakfast at your camp/lodge. Check out of the camp and have an optional visit to a Masai village as it is the best way to wrap-up your safari. Drive to Nairobi a distance of approximately 5 hours . Arrive in time for lunch.

Lunch at Carnivore Restaurant and later  drop off at your respective hotel or Airport around 3pm.

The above rate includes;

  • Pick up and drop off at your hotel/airport in Nairobi.
  • Meals on Full Board basis {Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner}
  • Lunch at the Carnivore Restaurant Nairobi on the last day of the safari.
  • Transport in a 4x4 Landcruiser with pop-up roof for easy viewing and photography.
  • Exclusive use of the Landcruiser
  • The Landcruiser is fitted with two-way, long range high frequency radio communications equipment and one binocular’s per car.
  • The Landcruiser carries safari accessories including window sills, a first-aid kit, water cooler box, and a fire extinguisher.
  • Services of an English speaking driver guide upon request.
  • Game viewing drives + Park Entrance fees
  • 2-500ml Bottles of drinking water per client per day.
  • Government taxes and local levies

The above rate does not include:

  • Travel insurance.
  • Personal communications charges for telephone calls, faxes, email, etc.
  • Tips and gratuities for your driver guide.
  • Masai Village{ $20 per person}
  • Hot Balloon {$475 per person}
  • Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. (Except for the bottled mineral water that is provided in the land cruiser while on game drives.)
  • Laundry services.
  • Between meals,snacks, parks, attractions, and events not included in your itinerary.
