Day 2: Kigali city tour.

Begin the day with a morning breakfast and then embark on Kigali Genocide Memorial & Museum was created by a joint partnership of the Kigali City Council and the UK-based Aegis Trust. The center is an extremely moving, challenging, educational and ultimately inspiring as well as a great place to understand the cause, tragedy and successful rebuilding post-genocide. The memorial hosts a tour which is transparent and educational but very sombre and humbling when guests realize that over 250,000 deceased are buried on the site of the memorial. Later, visit Inema Art gallery and have lunch.

After your relaxed lunch, you will meet your driver guide and drive to Ntarama and Nyamata genocide memorial sites which is roughly a 45 minutes’ drive. These two sites will give you a great picture of the entire genocide incidence in Rwanda. As you will be able to get fresh information about how the entire genocide started, and how this area was totally affected by the genocide. Ntarama’s former Catholic Church is now a memorial site. 5,000 people were massacred there on 15 August 1994 during the Rwanda Genocide. This memorial center is one of six major centers’ in Rwanda that commemorates the Rwanda Genocide. You will later head to visit Nyamata memorial and its surrounding region suffered some of the most extensive devastation and return to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

• 0730hrs: Begin the day with a morning breakfast.
• 0830hrs: Depart for Kigali City tour & visit the Genocide memorial centers & visit Inema Art gallery.
• 1300hrs: Lunch at the hotel/ resultant
• 1400hrs: Visit Ntarama and Nyamata genocide memorial sites.
• 1730hrs: Back to hotel for evening relaxation.
• 1800hrs: Dinner and overnight stay at the Lodge.

After your relaxed morning breakfast at the hotel, your driver guide will drive you to Kigali International Airport for your flight.
